About the Event
About the Workshop: If you’ve been hearing the term “positive psychology” thrown around a lot, but you’re not quite sure what it is, you’ve come to the right place! Positive psychology is a scientific approach to studying human thoughts, feelings, and behaviour, with a focus on strengths instead of weaknesses, building the good in life instead of repairing the bad, and taking the lives of average people up to “great” instead of focusing solely on moving those who are struggling up to “normal” (Peterson, 2008).
About the Speaker: Sonia David is a Psychological Counsellor in Schools and has worked as a Psychology Lecturer as well. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Psychology and specializes in Expressive Arts Techniques. She is a certified Art Therapist and an Acceptance and Commitment, Therapist. Her research activities include expressive arts therapies, person-centred and solution-focused therapy. She is also a published author, spoken poet and enjoys solo-travelling.
